What was the inspiration behind the collection?

Our inspiration for this line really came from sayings we love, colors we like to wear, and our go-to clothing items. also, we did a lot of research regarding what trends were hot for spring 2021 and pulled from so many of those. a few we included were: neutrals (obvi), minimal design, vintage-inspired graphics, and pieces that could be layered! We also wanted to continue to show our love and appreciation for Des Moines and the midwest in its entirety.

What new pieces are we most excited about?

We finally have another hoodie In our collection, which many of you had requested! And there’s nothing better than having that one go-to hoodies! this hoodies is perfect to wear with joggers, sweatpants, denim or your favorite bike shorts. It’s comfy and yet cute, all at the same time.

Another one of our favorites is a simple white t-shirt with one of our favorite midwest sayings, “you betcha.” a fun fact about this design: it’s actually printed on our in-house blank apparel line called ten nine. We worked to find the perfect women’s boxy tee and can’t wait for you all to see!

How is this collection different from the last one?

This collection took neutral basics to a whole other level! We didn’t want to just use your boring black and white, but instead we pushed browns, navys and greys throughout. we also focused a lot on those popular midwestern sayings, things we knew would be popular and so relatable to our customer.

Can you share your ideas for the lines’ photoshoot?

We were so excited to shoot for this spring line, it started being planned weeks before the apparel was even complete! There were so many different locations we wanted to use and loads of inspiration. One word that came to mind over and over again while planning was “vibey”. We wanted neutral backgrounds to really show off the clothing and match the line but also wanted something worn and vintage looking. definitely nothing too modern! Since a lot of our line is inspired by the midwest and Des Moines, we decided to shoot at some older places in downtown Des Moines, and the east village area. It was a great day of exploring and finding locations!
